TMS Therapy

TMS therapy is a new treatment that is FDA approved to treat depression. TMS stands for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.

TMS is a treatment that can be performed in a psychiatrist’s office under his/her supervision. TMS is:

  • Non-invasive meaning that it does not involve surgery.  It does not require any anesthesia or sedation, as the patient remains awake, alert and comfortable during the treatment.
  • Non-systemic, meaning that is it not taken by mouth and does not circulate in the bloodstream throughout the body.

The typical treatment plan for TMS consists of an initial mapping session that can last 60 minutes to 90 minutes followed by a series of treatment sessions lasting approximately 20 minutes.

We are now offering the theta burst protocol with TMS for treatment of Major Depressive Disorder.

Patient Testimonial

"I have been diagnosed with MDD (major depressive disorder).  Over the years I have been prescribed many different antidepressants, and other treatments such as TMS (transcranial  stimulation ) and ECT (electro convulsive therapy) - all with a lack of significant results.

Several months ago, I contacted Dr. Mina Hah about Spravato because apparently I have what is known as 'treatment resistant depression.' She and her staff were very helpful and supportive, and I noticed immediate results.  Where once I went for days not getting out of bed, I now have a fuller life. I play tennis, workout, swim, and I’m in a generally better mood.  Thank you Spravato."
